Maybelline New York Superstay 24 color 2 step lipstick in 100 Very cranberry : Review, swatch

Maybelline launched their Maybelline New York Superstay 24 color 2 step lipstick range and as usual I wanted to test out one. 
There are 10 shades and I picked 100 Very cranberry.
Though gorgeous shades, the names and the shades dont go hand in hand. Let’s get into the review of it.

My Experience with the lipcolor:
Packaging: Dual lipstick so it has Dual end. The colour coded transparent has the liquid lipcolor, the other white side has lipbalm. The applicator is good, the packaging is extremely light weight. You and toss it in the bag and it will be sturdy.

Shade: The shade very cranberry is Rose shade with the gold shimmers. Looks pretty I literally saw 2 other girls picking up the same shade at the counter. Its pretty, can be used daily or I prefer this shade when I have colored liner on. I liked the shade range of 10, but the shades dont go in synch with the shade name according to me. The one named rose is pale, the wine is purple.

Texture: The liquid lipcolor has thin consistency and goes on extremely smooth on lips, the applicator equally spreads the product on lips. The clear lipbalm is clear, lol. It has shine and it’s not our usual sticky lip balm. The liquid lipcolor is pigmented enough. How it will come out on lips depends on the lip pigmentation and the skin tone one has.

Performance: Though pigmented the lipcolor needs about 2 layers to have that prominent shade on lips. Now comes the tricky part. Once applied on lips, if it’s one layer it does feel dry on the outer look but feels extremely sticky on the lips . If 2 layers are worn, the upper layer dries fast however the lower one doesnot. In both the cases the lip product feels extremely sticky on the lips for the next couple of minutes. Like you have applied Fevicol on the lips. You have to resist the urge the press your lips together, otherwise the lipcolor will peel off like a oil paint and will be a mess. The one of kind lipbalm hydrates lipbalm very well. It gives a glossy shine to the lips and much needed moisturization as at the end it is a liquid lipstick. More than 2 coats will end up looking cakey and that lipcolor will be felt on the lips. So I don’t advice more than 2 coats.

The lipstick claims of 24 hours but in the reality once you start eating heavy oily food the lower lips starts loosing the shade . The only saving grace of this particular shade is since its natural, the patchiness post having oily food goes unnoticed at a glance. Only you can tell the blunder happened. Touching up part is difficult too. It needs oil/ oil based remover to go off from the lipstick completely. All in all it stays for about 10+ hours if you eat normal food( I mean no oily food). You need about 2-3 applications to get hang of it.

Pretty shade, Affordable if you consider the liquid lipstick prices, Great pigmentation, Texture is good, great staying power with Not so oily food/snacks, The lipbalm

More than 2 layers the lip colours end up looking like paint, Pain in the As* to remove, Gets patchy after yummy oily food,
Last words:
I am on the fence about this. Overall it’s okay, I am not that pleased with it. For me the colour went little meh, it’s not that flattering for me. If you are high on liquid lipstick trend and if you are ready to bare that glue like feel on for the first 2 minutes give this a try. I would not call this a must try. Keep in mind that though long lasting, oily food will break it down. So avoid oily food when this is on, it will help you in managing calories as well 😛 Hey just saying… and they say
pretty hurts..bwahahaha.

The rest liquid lipsticks which I loved at 600-700INR and even under that range are: Diana of london 2000 kisses , NYX soft matte, Miss claire, Colourpop, Coloressence liquid lipstick
