Dark Circles – Reasons for Their Formation & Tips to Reduce Them !!!
Hi All
Dark Circles, You don’t need to go crazy thinking of how to remove dark circles, instead learn what is causing them & then figure out a remedy that addresses the root cause & not just conceals the dark circles. It is often claimed that dark circles are caused by fatigue or even just staying up late. While there is some truth to this, the fact is that your genes play a huge role too.

As we age, our skin loses its suppleness and ability to regenerate thereby becoming thinner. Hence, more often than not, elderly people have rather prominent dark circles,no matter how much they sleep. One of the reasons for dark circlesis periorbital hyperpigmentation, a condition that causes more melanin being produced by the skin below the eyes. This makes it look like a darker color & is much more noticeable in darker skinned people.
There are several factors that can make dark circles appear pretty scary, even if you’re not genetically inclined to getting them. For example, the oxidization of blood leaking from the periorbital blood vessels can leave you with puffy dark circles under your eyes. This is a relatively harmless problem and even the chronic sufferers of this sort of blood leaking need not worry too much about it.
Although, exhaustion and lack of sleep can definitely cause dark circles. When the body is tired, production of a chemical called cortisol increases to provide the energy you need to stay awake. Cortisol actually increases the volume of the blood in the body, causing blood vessels below the eyes to engorge to accommodate it. As dark circles are mostly caused by us seeing our blood vessels / blood through our skin, they become quite prominent.

So wondering how to get rid of dark circles? Once, you’ve successfully diagnosed the cause, try some of these fixes:
- Mix one teaspoon of tomato juice with a teaspoon of lemon juice and apply it under your eyes. Let it remain for about 10 minutes and then, wash it off with water. Repeat this remedy at least twice a day.
- Soak a tea bag or green tea bag in water. Cool it by placing it in the refrigerator for a while. Place them over your eyes. Use this remedy on a regular basis to see considerable difference.
- Mix some orange juice with a few drops of glycerin and apply this mixture over the dark circles. Not only will it diminish the dark circles it will also give a natural glow to your eyes.
- Yoga and meditation if practiced regularly will not only decrease your dark circles will also balance the body clock whilst calming your mind, body and soul.
