Essence All About Matt Fixing Compact Powder
Since I have an oily as soon as I hear “Matte” magical keyword in any product all I want to do is buy that product. Some I can, some I cannot and some I gets placed in my wish list. Powders are a must in my life or in any oily skinned person 😀 The Rimmel matte powder I have is almost over and instead of hunting for another one I thought of giving  Essence All About Matt Fixing Compact Powder a try.
Price: 349 INR or 8gms.
Product Description:Â Extremely smooth fixing compact powder for a matte and natural finish all day long. Helps to blend blush and foundation colors together. Fixes make-up when applied as finishing powder. For all skin tones.
Ingredients: Talc, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Saphire Powder, Aqua (Water), Magnesium Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Ethylhexyl  Palmitate, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol.
My thoughts on Essence All About Matt Fixing Compact Powder:Â
Packaging: The pan has a white pressed powder sans any applicator and a mirror. Â I am okay with it but I will not be able to carry it for touch ups. The information is printed on back of the pan. It’s a simple, neat packaging, I like it. The lid closes tightly with a click sound.
Texture: In the Pan and while swatching it looks powdery but is not. The powder is finally milled. It doesn’t have any scent to it. But it’s very delicate, becomes powdery too soon if the brush is harsh. I am sure it is going to shatter if it ever falls. Forget touch ups, I am not going to carry this even in the bag while travelling.
My experience:Â
While picking up the product, if the brush isn’t the softest one, extra product gets scraped off, but gets left behind in the pan. White powders have a tendency to cling onto the parts of skin regardless of skin type, but this one does not. The powder spreads equally without leaving any white cast as it is colorless. It is going to work for most of the skin tone, except deep/darker skin tones.
As soon as you apply the powder, it makes the face look matte. It takes away all the shine from the face giving a healthy glow. That glow goes off in about 2 hours; then how long it keeps the face matte depends on weather. On an extreme humid day the face remained oil/shine free for about 3 hours, and then on normal weather face was matte for a longer time. When I re-applied it, the powder dint leave any white cast.
Though they say All skin type, dry skinned beauties are not going to love it. As it makes the face completely matte on application. If you have dry skin, skip it.
I like to keep the face matte but I really don’t expect any product to keep the face matte for more than 4 hours. It does not have any coverage, it’s work is to set the base product, give a matte finish and it does that effectively. I am happy with its performance and a definite repurchase once it gets over.
Yeah Rimmel Matte powder is cheaper than this and performs the same, but good luck finding that product 😛  One more cheaper option for matte compact powder is from Maybelline. But if you want to try something new and fed up of finding the shade or want a translucent powder, Essence compact powder is a nice option.  Agreed that though packaging is cute it is inconvenient for touch ups or for travelling. Yet  Essence All About Matt Fixing Compact Powder good setting powder, affordable , keeps the face matte for a good amount of time. Recommend.Â
