Maybelline Colorsensational Velvet Matte Mat 6 : Review, swatch, LOTD

Hello fellow makeup addicts 🙂
Special hello to Maybelline addicts 😛

Presenting another lipstick review in the row because it’s a new launch, it’s by Maybelline and I am biased towards lipsticks…ha ha. Without much intros and rants let’s move on to the review.

Oh Oh..I almost forgot. The first time I went to counter to ask for this, the SA showed me the Bold Matte collection and said these are the ones, no such thing as velvet matte and rolled her eyes =)) so only when I saw these everywhere I figured out it must have reached the counters and went in search.
Now onto the review.

Maybelline Velvet Matte Mat 6

My Experience with Maybelline Colorsensational Velvet Matte Mat 6:

Packaging: Maybelline Velvet Matte packaging is same as that of the lip polishes/elixirs which came a year ago. Same clear plastic packing, same lipstick bullet like appearance on the inside only that the cap is matte, with the shade name mentioned at the bottom. If you pick multiple colours it is easy to identify. The applicator is spongy leaf like which helps in precise application. I find it perfect.

Shade: Mat 6 is a Berry Pink. On me the shade starts of more like raspberry pink as it fades it turns like wine shade you know like in the end. It’s going to look great on every skin tone. This shade called my name ever since I saw the swatch in some of the international blogs. If this shade would not have been launched I would have skipped this range all together. Yes that much love for Berry lol

Texture: Two words for this: Creamy liquid lipstick ( Wait its three words!!). Though they are called matte and bla, these are nothing but cream lipsticks, which are no way near matte. The lipstick goes on smoothly on the lips and is opaque. Pigmentation is bang on. This shade when layered got distributed evenly, dint get collected at one point. Though I cannot really say about other shades as I believe the textures are little different across other shades.( You can see the swatch/review video by Shalini of  be Be Beautilicious here )

Performance: These feel cushiony and appear velvety on lips. Lipstick stays easily for about 3-5 hour with the sip or munches in between. Today I had to errands so no munching nothing, just business. So it was intact for 5 hours with the a little fading. After the initial 2 hour it looks more matte but it never really dries down to complete matte. I do feel the lipstick on the lips when layered. Lips feel moisturized and they don’t settle in fine lines. Also they make the lips smooth. After the meal it faded away to great extent, due to its creamy nature I have a feeling that it might bleed a little if the food is really greasy.

Maybelline Velvet Matte India review

I loved the shade I got. Keeping aside the velvet and matte and other claims I say these are the liquid creamy lipsticks under 500 bucks with the good pigmentation. You will be disspointed if you looking for a out and out matte lipstick with 6-7 staying power. There was an n*de everyday shade which launched internationally sad it dint make it here. But the 8 shades launched are nice; there are some pinks and amazing reds in this range.  Do check the range out.

What do think about this? Have you checked out this range yet?
